With songs that are rich in lyric and image, Donna Dufresne presents her story-filled originals in a clever and amusing style that leaves audiences assured of a memorable performance.

Donna has a rich background in vocal and dramatic performance.. She owes her unique, and somewhat eclectic, musical identity to the profound influence of British Isles folk music early in her career, and the blend of cowboy music and jazz she listened to as a child. Donna has developed an original repertoire that is distinctly her own, drawing from the era of early western swing, American Songbook, and a little gypsy jazz to create a romantic, vintage sound.

“ Many of Donna’s lyrics seem to strike a note of recognition in most members of the audience. There were times when there were more than a few hankies dabbing eyes.”
Susan Dziedzic, "The Reminder Newspaper"

Donna has appeared throughout New England in an array of venues as a performing story teller, singer/songwriter, musician and also, as an actress noted for her dramatic portrayal of historical figures. Her dramatic monologues include Connecticut State Heroine, Prudence Crandall.
